Jay turser copy of a rickenbacker 3259/24/2023 The bodies generally have shapes that are certainly Rickish but I've never seen one up close or played one so I can't say anything about them. There are at least two sellers on ebay who sometimes have Chinese copies. I've got one of the Tursers and like it a lot for what it is. The toaster pups looked good and sounded fairly decent but were a bit microphonic. The necks had more of a gibby feel and the body shape was very slightly off but only a Rick fanatic would spot the differences. They weren't bad and had the looks down pretty well. Several years back there were a lot of Lennonish models coming out of Korea as Turser, Dillion, Rockinbetter (by Tokai) and a few others. These turn up now and then but are on the expensive side of cheap. I don't think any of them used the dual truss rods and the necks didn't feel very Rickish but they were as close as you were likely to find. Back in the day Ibanez, Greco and Tokai put out some very good copies. They've never sold anything they consider an inferior product. ![]() ![]() Their guitars are expensive but I'm sort of glad they have the policy they do.Īs far as I know, they're the only large American maker who does not bring in cheaper guitars and rubber stamp their name. Rick goes after copies like a pissed pit bull.
